Behind the name
The Citizen story.
Citizen approaches watchmaking with a simple ambition: keep finding a better way. With more than a century of experience, the company makes nearly every part of its watches in house, from small components to final assembly. Its search for practical innovation led to the world's first light powered analog watch in 1976, a breakthrough that evolved into Eco-Drive.
These watches convert natural or artificial light into energy, making light part of your daily timekeeping routine. Citizen's wider collection also includes mechanical watches and selected designs that explore titanium and other technical materials. Discover Citizen at Dan Martin Jewelers and find a watch whose engineering and style fit the rhythm of your day.
